Stanwood claims a spot for the dome

Stanwood rallied over Kamikan for a 64 – 57 victory, on Saturday night during the regional game.

The Spartans out-worked and out-hustled Kamikan, to get a 24 – 22 lead at half time and a 42 – 37 lead to start the fourth quarter.

Spartans defense was causing several turnovers in the fourth period, but a double foul on Spartans player Mitchell Jones and kamikans’ player Payton Flynn, eventually caught up too Mitchell when he was fouled out with 1:49 left in the fourth period

With 9.6 seconds left Nate Kummer was fouled and at the line to shoot two. Kamikan was able to get a basket up before the buzzer.

Stanwood wins 64 – 57 which advances them to the state tournament, for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

Stanwood plays Wednesday, 9:00am. At the Tacoma Dome
