Tips looking to grab the playoff lead again in Game 3 tonight, versus the Thunderbirds at the ShoWare center in Kent, WA. Both teams are tied at 1-1 in the 7 game series.
The Tips were able to sweep Game 1 on 3/23 (4-1) at home ice, but the Thunderbirds’ were able to match the Silvertips’ momentum on 3/24 and come out with a victory (5-4 in OT) at Everett’s arena. Everett went 6-2-0-2 against Seattle in the regular season.
Things to know heading into tonight’s game. Riley Sutter will be out of todays game, for a Kneeing penalty in Saturdays game (3/24). Sutter will return for the upcoming game Friday. Bryce Kindopp will be expected to step up in Center, Sutter’s spot tonight.
Don’t let that worry you too much, Kindopp has played in 3 different lines in this years regular season. Does any of the Shuffling bother Kindopp? “No, not really – I go anywhere the coach needs me to go,” Kindopp told the [Everett Herald] “Every player is great to play with so it doesn’t really bother me. I just play tough and competitive hockey. It doesn’t really matter where I am, I’m always playing with great players so it doesn’t matter to me.”
The Thunderbirds will most likely be looking to shut down the Fonteyne, Pilon, and Bajkov line. That line has 6 out of the 8 goals scored in the last two games. Including Pilon with a hat-trick on Saturdays game (3/24) Everett also can’t rely on Carter Hart to save all shots. Hart has a (.947) save percentage in the regular season. Hart has 53 saves out of 59 shots on him, in the last two games.
