Everett – With a “Do or Die” game tonight, Everett knew that they needed to take this game to another level and come off with an early lead and be able to hold it if they wanted to stay in this series.
And before 6,628 amazing fans, that’s just what they did… the Tips got on the scoreboard just over six minutes in, when Wyatte Wylie(2) got a centering feed from Connor Dewar and got it past Swift Current Broncos goalie Stuart Skinner.
With Everett getting the lead, they were looking good. Crisp passes, and great momentum. Everett kept the puck in the offensive zone for nearly two minutes and racked up shots on goal but was unsuccessful in a scoring opportunity.

At 16:07 Matt Fonteyne(9) would catch a small 1-on-1 opportunity and sneak it past the defenseman Josh Anderson, and Skinner. Fonteyne’s goal would put them up 2-0. Swift Currents Captain, Glenn Gawdin(13) would answer back with 2:10 remaining in the first. Swift Current would trail by one heading into the second period.
Everett would have almost a full power play remaining to open the second period, but the Tips wouldnt convert on the power play. Glenn Gawdin(14) would get his second of the night after a pass from the blue line where he’d get it past Carter Hart’s left pad, tieing it 2-2. The rest of the period, would go scoreless.
Opening the third period, Everett knew that they still needed to come out and play 100% and not give up their lead. With 16:16 left in the final period, Giorgio Estephan nearly took the lead after he rang it off the right post. But a minute later, Sean Richards(4) would skate in and use the big toe drag move before putting it past Skinner to take the lead again 3-2. Within nearly two minutes, Riley Sutter found the puck in the high slot and flung it past Skinner advancing their lead 4-2.
The Tips would later go on another power play and be unsuccessful. With 7:09 left, Noah King(1) would close the lead to within one (4-3). With the Broncos goalie pulled with 1:40 remaining, Connor Dewar(11) was able to break up a pass, and skate the puck into the net now increasing their lead 5-3. As Skinner was pulled yet again, Dewar(12) found himself in nearly the same exact position and skated the puck to the net and fired it in with 28 seconds left. Everett would take tonight’s win, 6-3 and heads to Swift Current for game 6 on Sunday.
